1/17/25 – After way too much snow and freezing weather, we ended up with a balmy 28 degree Thursday evening for our first annual Freezer Bowl: Tournament of Fools. Our amazing facilities manager spent many hours shoveling to clear the snow and ice, but it was well worth the effort. We had seven teams of very hardy men ready to compete in the frigid Midwest weather. One of the best players was off his game (name withheld, probably exhausted from shoveling) which allowed Mark and Donovan to prevail and win the tournament. Great job guys! So glad Susan bundled you up properly Mark. The best part of the evening was seeing Bill back in perfect form and playing as average as he always has. So great to have you back Bill! Really made the night special.
Sour note: Steve Miller did not show up and did not arrange for someone else to deliver his half of the prize, so the winners had to share one bottle of very familiar-looking bourbon (check the Christmas post). This is very bad form, Steve.
Everyone had such a great time this will have to be an annual tradition; cold, lousy weather permitting.
Thanks to Mike, Dan, Dirc and Wally for contributing tanks and heaters.
We have way too much fun on Thursdays.
