5/6/2025 – What a lousy spring. Way too much rain with lower than normal temperatures. But we had to make a go of it regardless. The forecast originally called for the rain to stop in the late afternoon or early evening but it just kept coming. Finally, about 8:30 pm it stopped and we were able to wipe everything down and start the tournament. The new artificial turf was awesome because it drains well and does not hold water, so the bags stayed much drier and the playability was still good. That turf is a game changer.

We had 6 teams ready to compete. Muff and George went all the way to the final bracket undefeated. The Wallinator and Dan O came up from the losers’ bracket and won the first round in a nail biter, 20-21. But Muff and George buckled down and beat them easily in the second round to win the tournament.

Unfortunately Donovan claimed that due to new phone issues he didn’t know he had to bring the prize, so there was only 1 bottle for the winners to share. He might be morphing into a Miller. Fortunately, Susan bought Mark a really nice bottle of Angels Envy so that made it better. Susan, thanks for taking care of Mark!

The capper of the night was the after tournament fun play when Mark and Donovan got Shicked. There is a known risk to playing the last game of the night.
